Question:
Hi,
Answer:
Hi,
I want to replicate a process from a legacy system in SAP and I need help.
The process:
In the legacy system when creating a sales order, and when entering the line items, the user can press F9 which will bring the user into a list of previous orders for that customer. The user can double click an order and this will take the user into another screen with the line items for that order. By pressing F9 on any line item, it will bring the contents of that item into the new order. The user can do this for all items on the order.
Is this possible, or something similar to it, in SAP?
Thanks in advance,

I think you need to look at Item proposals. (Path = SD, Master data, Products, Item Proposal).
Read the F1 help to start you off, there is a bit of config work to do. Here is snip of what F1 will say
A product proposal is a list of products for a specific customer that is automatically proposed during sales document processing. You can determine yourself which materials should be displayed as product proposals in the sales document. You can also specify the sequence in which the materials are to be displayed in the product proposal.
During sales document processing, the system displays a product proposal in the item overview, according to the customer and business transaction. It displays the material number, material description and the historical order quantities in the sales unit last used. To use them again, you can just copy them.
Look like the sort of thing you want to do ? Good luck,

Answer:
You do not have exact replica, but only some thing similar. While creating or changing sales order, click on propose items icon. System displays all sales orders for that customer. Select order, click on selection list. Select the item(s) you want to copy. System copies item(s) to sales order. You can also restrict selection of sales orders by customer, material combination. In this case, you need to click on orders icon instead of propose items icon.

Thanks for getting back to me.
I have look at both of the suggestions but both fall short.
What is required, is when the user selects the Orders button and sees the list of orders, the user would be able to select an item from an order and bring it into the new order.
The user would be able to select mulpitle items or a single item, and would also be able to select from different orders.
This would only be supporting the user, and not required all the time.
Anyone with suggestions on BAPI's to do this would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

Answer:
why is this so important to your user? the solutions suggested in the previous posts are standard SAP ways to propose items and assist user.
Sometimes as a consultant you need to remind the client that this is a different system and not try to fit a round pig thru a square hole.
