Hi,
I know some of the following is not in the SAP standard world, but reality and pragmatism prevail.
For a number of reasons we have lost our development client and it will not be restored since we are about to upgrade to 4.7., the result is that we are continually switching on and off configuration to make minor amendments.
The problem is that in our 3.1i production client we have to amend a number of user profiles due to changes in responsibility etc.
When I try to amend the authorizations of those profiles generated via the profile generator (PFCG) they remain in display only. Despite the change option being initially selected.
The only option I have found to date is to give the user the production controller rights, this seems a little ott since they only what to run a report to display goods movements.
Any ideas?

If PFCG turned On in Production?, Your comments are not too clrear as to where the specific problem is. On the authorization page in PFCG? in the tcode a user uses? Maybe it is just too early in the morning.

thanks for the response, even using trans. SU03 and selecting change will not provide the change option for those profiles created using PFCG on the old dev client.
I assume that pfcg is enabled, since I can run the transaction and amend available menu options, but the authorization element does not appear on the screen.

Generated Profile from PFCG CANNOT be changed via SU03 regardless of the system. If the authorizaiton tab is misisng then PFCG is NOT turned on you can perfomr other funcitons just not authorization maintenance.
You will have to set the system parameter "auth/no_check_in_some_cases" neew to be set on ( i Beleive value 'YES')
