Question:
hi,
1) in a child-parent relationship, all changes in the roles should be done in the parent as then this will propagate to the child systems, right?
2) i have an error with accessing one of the transactions in ESS. And it is as belows
"The Internet Transaction Server could not start the transaction "PZ50" because of the following error: You are not authorized to use Transaction PZ50. "
2.1) Should I add PZ50 to the S_TCODE in the parent or child?
2.2) in my parent, i have only one S_TCODE with a standard status. However, in my child, i have 2 S_TCODE with different status, manually and standard. Not sure of the implications, please advise?

Answer:
1) Right
2) You should add tcodes in the parent as well. The only thing I would change in the child are the org. levels. All other changes will be overwritten when next time you maintain the parent and push the button "Generate all derived roles".
3) From an authorisation perspective it is no difference if access granted via standard or maintained object.
Answer:
oops.. left out my background
R/3 --- WORKPLACE --- ESS
so what happens now is that i have added the new transaction in my role in r/3 only. therefore, the same role in my workplace doesnt have that new transaction.
1) when my user access ESS, they are able to access that transaction even with the workplace not having that transaction in that role?
2) hwo can i check roles in both child and parent that are not the same?
information system allows that individually. how about listing those which falls in this category?
