Question:
Hi Guys,
I have an issue which I need your advise on.In the past where I have had one controlling area for multiple countries I have always restricted this by country by insisting we have a cost centre number range per country so I can control by cost centre or even hiearchy nodes - I have also insisted on order type naming convention per country. The problem I have at the moment that a project has implemented one controlling area for numerous countries and have no naming convention for cost centres and the hierarchy nodes can not be used either to restrict / identify by a country.Any one any suggestions of how we can control by company code within one controlling area when cost centres or node can not be used to identify a country/company code.
Appreciate your time and advice.
Tom
Answer:
What is the risk ( potential loss) and what is the probability of occurance? ... Asside from some rare Government limitation , Low and non-existant, so use an asterisk and move on...
What are the users trying to hide? Are you using Security instead of training? Do the Cost center stewards not want to do their job? The Idea of controlling so granular is costly and yields little if any useful control.
If you MUST control the you willhave to have a list of COst center taht belong to the various entities and manually enter each value in the authorization... A GROSS WASTE OF TIME yielding little benefit at a high cost.
