Mass creation of rols in Enterprise 4.7 SR2

Question: Hi gurus,

Please help me to follow question.

We have SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.7 SR2 with Oracle 9.2.0.5 in Windows 2003 advanced server.

How do we to create in mass the rols.

We have understood that this can be done concerning a batch file.

How We do this?

How it must be the structure of the file? in .txt or excel?

A lot of thanks,

Rol47

Answer:
Sorry,

I feel it by the 2 messages, not that him passage to my Internet Explorer when I sent the message.

Thank´s

Answer:
Snowy's about to drop another train on ya. The timestamps are too lenghty in between to be an IE error.. lol

For the record anyways, I don't know of any mass role creation programs provided by SAP in 4.7. I have a custom ABAP that does just that, but its owned by my company and not for distribution. Unless someone else is familiar with one, it would be news to me.. =)

Answer:
What makes the button "Import from file" in the pfcg transaction?

Answer:
You can import roles that have been created/stored in the correct file format. If you want to attempt to create your own flat files to be loaded up to pfcg, try OSS note 389675 - PFCG File Format for Uploading Menus to User Roles.

Answer:
Josie is right with that statement, but a word of warning... The file format used for the uploads is not the easiest to use...

Answer:
Definitely not. My original posting had a blurb about that but I took it out figuring maybe I was just having a bad day last time I tried it.

Answer:
I participate on the security influence council for ASUG, and I mentioned this to SAP some time back, and got the standard message...

"I'll take this back to our developers"... to which I can only assume my poor little request was left for dead... hehe

Answer:
As PFCG is designed, you cannot mass create roles as there is no logic that can CORRECTLY answer all the Open fields in the authorizations, especially when the Activity is blank.

At best you can have the tcodes loaded, but a cut and paste works just fine into the menu.

participate on the security influence council for ASUG How do you get on this, there have been MANY recommendations that are wrong and cause more problems as they cure symtoms rather than correct root problems.

Answer:
Hello again

Its aid has been very valuable.

I have another question.

We can import the "authorization objects" from plain file?

Thank´s

Rol47

Answer:
Nope, not into PFCG.

PFCG is based on tcodes and whne entered in the menu tab SAP brings in the configured authorization objects needed for those tcodes. It then REQUIRES human intervention to supply the appropriate values (either through company control requirements or configuration to SU24 to correct missing or non-complying values) to complete the authorizations.

Answer:
There are some third-party tools which make such mass creation jobs very easy for the end-user and do not require any programming. One such tool is TxShuttle from www.winshuttle.com. Check it out.

Hope this helps.
