hi, i am on r/3 R31(111) ---- workplace WKP(111), with CUA. i have a role in my R31. This role does not exist in WKP.
1) Can i get this role to WKP?
2) In WKP, there is this "text comparison from child system". Basically, this is tell WKP that there are new roles in R31 that WKP needs to know so that Basis can assigned the roles, systems in WKP which will then propagate to R31?
3) i did a "text comparison from child system" in WKP. So now my new role in R31 is seen in WKP. Thereafter, i assign the role (in su01 role tab) in WKP which will then propagate to R31. I went to my child R31. I dont see any entry in role tab. Instead this appear in the profile tab instead. why?
4) Instead of 3, in my R31, i can assign the role to a user. However, i cant do it through adding of users in the "User" tab. There is only a binocular button. The only way which i can do it is through the organizational management. If i do this, the entry will be in blue instead of black.
Please advise.

You can do it via Client Copy with proper profile (copy roles only)

Sorry, I dont understand the question. But I scheduled an hourly-job to "compare text from child system" to not use this button every time.
For 3 and 4: what are settings for these fields (role/profile) in SCUM?

you mentioned that u have a hourly job that achieves the above and u recommend not to do this manually?
for (3) and (4), i went to the transaction which u recommend both in r/3 and workplace. Basically, i believe that u wanted me to check on the roles and profiles tab and which field was selected, whether it is global or local and etc?
and for the roles and profiles tab, all its values are global.

As i understand when Basis press "text comparison from child system", WKP will get/update the list of roles from R31

I work with ver.4.6C. and "text comparison from child system" is a button. This button is active always (I've seen it always). I think, SAP doesn't know, there are or there aren't new roles in R31. Basis can update the list of roles for get new roles. But if he is sure that there isnt any new role, he may not use "text comparison from child system"

I have linked DEV and QA via CUA and roles are changed very often, so i had to use "text comparison from child system" every time and it taken some time (we have 7 chield system). So i created batch job to update role in central system
and for the roles and profiles tab, all its values are global.
It looks like roles' fields are local in R31 but global in WKP.
