Working as designed. But your error on SU53 may not be what iscausing the problem. SAP Checks all access in a loop and records the failure in an internal talbe and once complete errors out or adjusts the output. Sinc eit is in a loop the failure in SU53 is the last failure not the one causing the problem. A carefullly evaluated ST01 is a better tool for HR.
Also in HR if you are not using the asterisk you must always enter a blank in the field you do no tuse an asterisk. ( represented by single quotes).
