We are implementing ESS .
1)Can some body clarify that all ESS users need regular SAPID to be created (e.g from SU01)? If No, then how do you maintain all these users ?
2) How to create ESS user using HRUSER tx with CUA implemented. (means we are using solution manager as CUA client and R/3 works as child system)?

Hi,
Yes you need to create a user using SU01 for each ESS user and assign the security role that gives them access to their HR data. I do not use CUA so I cnnot answer the 105 question. You can use PA30 to create these as well.

ESS users via CUA is a bit more difficult, the HR structure would have to be in the CUA system and the 0105 record maintianed there to have something for SAP to use as a basis for the ID. Generally not done.
You should entertain scheduling HRUSER as a batch job or use security by position in the target system and running RHPROFL0 in the target system and then run SCUM or SGUL ( the tcodes that "brings ids into the fold of CUA" rather borg-like) to get the created ID into CUA.
