SAP Application is logging into SAP database through an User ID : sapr3.
We need to change the password for this user ID due to Audit requirement
how to change the password ; i am new to securities...

There are some interesting OSS notes on a proper procedure for storing this password. I don't think a lot of security people do this. You may want to post over in Basis.

even if this a password thing, it is not a SAP securty question. Setting passwords for DB and OS users is a Basis job.
