F_IT_ALV

Question: Hi,

Does anyone have information on object F_IT_ALV. I am particularly intereted in acticity 70 (administer) I would liek to know what exaclly does this mean and what access does the user get if the acticity is set to 70.

Is there any documentation availabel that can be accessed ?

Thanks

Answer:
The object help text pretty much explains it

Activity 70 gives users the ability to administer layouts in transactions like FBL1N & FBL3N.

This should be restricted to prevent users playing about with layouts that are used by other users.

Definition
Object F_IT_ALV controls the availability of functions for layout maintenance in the ALV list for the line item display. This authorization is optional: If it has not been maintained for a user, this does not affect previous functions - that is, all layout functions are still available without restrictions.

Defined fields
Object F_IT_ALV has a field, activity ACTVT, that can have one of four values: 01, 02, 03 and 70. Each of the activities 01, 02 and 70 specifically controls the availability of a function (in the menu or application toolbar) in the ALV line item list:
01: "Settings -> Display variant -> Save"
02: "Settings -> Display variant -> Current .." and
"Settings -> Display variant -> Current header items"
70: "Settings -> Display variant -> Administration"

Activity 03 is the minimum, most restricted authorization: The user can only select preconfigured layouts. All other functions are inactive for activity 03.

If, for example, you want a user to be able to change the column selection and the header items and save this new layout, but do not want him to administrate the layout, then you would give this user authorization for activities 01 and 02.
