We are looking for a simple way to restrict access to the Current and Previous buttons from the MM03 Costing 2 tab. We have a need to create a role so that users cannot gain access to the Bill of Material through these buttons. I'm trying to avoid some kind of ABAP code to eliminate the branching to the program. I don't know if there is a way to do this through authorizations or config. Thanks!

You can put authorization groups on BOM and that should keep people who do not have display access to that BOM from seeing them. This requires that the authorization group field be populated for the BOM.
