BW auth error opening a BW workbook

Question: Searched archives and OSS, but no solution stands out - has anyone encountered this error or know of a possible fix.

User is getting the error shown below when he tries to run the only workbook in his Favorites. If he tries to open a workbook from one of his other assigned BW roles, he can see the folders/subfolders but they are all EMPTY!

Copied user to test with and no issue encountered with test ID.

Error: document store operation failed due to missing authorizations

Thank you,
Vincent

Answer:
Are their any reporting authorization objects?

If not (since reporting objects have a separate trace function) turn on ST01 and do a trace there. If there are reporting authorizations you may need to run a trace out of RSSM.

Answer:
First disclaimer, it’s been a while since I’ve been on BW but here goes.

Vaguely recall had similar auth issues. Start from the beginning. The publishers who create the work book, create the folders and assign to a ROLE. Once created they have to transport the role with the workbooks to the target client otherwise workbook will not be there, next, the intended user of the workbook had to have that role assigned so he can see the folders and he also has to have object S_USER_AGR with ACTVT 03 and that ROLE specified in the object otherwise he will not have proper authorization but the previous post from GUEST is correct in saying that you should be able to do a trace and find the error.

Hope this helps,

FYI,
This issue is now resolved, but without having an opportunity to trace. As it turns out, the user had been executing from History rather than Favorites - adding the workbook to Favorites eliminated the error.

Unfortunately, removing it again from Favorites did not then reintroduce the error, so I could not recreate to see what the trace would tell us.

If it crops up again and I actually get the chance to trace, I'll come back to this thread and give an update.
