Question:
Dear Gurus,
I am trying to Install/Configure EP5 SP4 on windows 2000. The whole installation is successful, but I am running into problems while working with User Management Configuration.
Here are some questions:
1. In the General Settings tab under System Configuration -> User Management Configuration first of all I create New Configuration and then did the following settings in this tab:
Administrator Setting
Super admin login: yasir
Super admin password: yasir
NT User Impersonation
Domain/User: <mydomainname\DomainAdminUser>
Password: <PWDForAboveUser>
According to documentation, I must be able to login with the user yasir/yasir without getting authenticated by the LDAP. But when I first configure this i was unable to. So I revert to the Default configuration again to login with user admin/admin.
Should I be able to login with yasir/yasir even if I don't configure the remaining tabs?
2. My directory server is Corporate LDAP Directory which is MS ADS. in the "Directory Server" tab I did the following settings.
LDAP server type: MS-ADS
LDAP server: <HostNameofDomainControler>
Server port: 389
User: CN=sapuser,CN=Users,DC=cice,DC=cic,DC=ae
Password: <PWDForSAPUSER>
Groups root: CN=Users,DC=abc,DC=xyz,DC=ae
People root: CN=Users,DC=abc,DC=xyz,DC=ae
Then I selected, "Groups point to their members"
Are the Above Settings correct according to MS ADS?
I am not using SSL.
3. In the "Authentication Server" Tab i did the following configuration:
User authentication type:LDAP
LDAP server Type: MS-ADS
LDAP server: <HostNameofDomainControler>
Server port: 389
User: CN=sapuser,CN=Users,DC=abc,DC=xyz,DC=ae
Password: <PWDForSAPUSER>
But, after this configuration when I try to test the connection with "Test Connection..." button, after supplying any user/pwd of the domain, I get the following error: "Authentication Failed (Initilization of authenticator indicator failed. Recheck your parameters.):
Can anybody give me any clue what parameters are wrong? what am I missing?
Any help will be appriciated.
thanks in advance,
Yasir.

I am moving this one to the Portals forum where it stands a better chance of being answered.
