Hi,
Is there any way to rename / change the name of a role / activity group without copying it with different name and then delete the old one.
If there any way out, please let me know. This will help me a lot in hundreds of role maintanance (changing the name of roles).
Also if we could able to rename without copy can we :
1. Get the user assignment as it is?
2. Do we need to regenarate the role again after rename?
3. If we transport the renamed role to Production system, does it also rename the role or transport the new renamed role with existing role as it is?

Answer:
Without your own code no. Futher it involves quite a few tables.
The transprot would not reassign the role unless you marked "user assignment" on the transport and would require DEV to have the EXACT same assigment as Production, which is unlikkely as you do not have the same users in Dev and PRD.
