Hi all,
I'm wondering what process is generally used for the population of 105s. It seems to require tight communication between the Security group and the HR group, and there doesn't seem to be an easy way around it. The way we do it is Security sends a list of new IDs to HR periodically, and HR updates the 105s. It's such a manual process, and so prone to error that I think someone must have a better way.

Most of my clients have the security group create this infotype. Some of my clients actually generate a user id based on the personnel number and then they generate IT105 (automated)

In most cases, especially with permenant employees users will be assigned a personnel number right when they start. If IT0105 ST0001 is required I find it useful to have it as a mandatory object in the new user process. This won't cover everyone but will catch the majority

During our ESS imlementation, we automated both the USR02 and 105 creation. After HR hires the new user in our HR system, a series of programs run that 1) create a unique login account name 2) add the user to Active Directory 3) Add the user to USR02 and create the 105 record. One of the issues we had with HR adding the 105 is they do not know nor care as to what the login id should be. Hope this helps.
