Question:
Fellows,
when I change a role in DEV and add it to a customizing task and that role is changed afterwards, do I need to add it to the task again ? Or will it pick up the values at the moment I release the task ?
Thanks for your help !
Stephanovich
Answer:
I believe that it will not pick up the changes after it has been added to the task. If you make any further changes you should create a new request which is imported after the first on.

Hi there,
there is another way to work around the issue. In stead of creating a new transport req you can simply re-add the altered role to the existing transport (if this has not yet been released).

Answer:
When you enter an object in a transport it is nothjing more than a reference key to the obkect and it is not until you RELEASE the transport does SAP actually capture the data and write it to a file, so technically once it is entered into a transport you can continute to make changes and at REALEASE time SAP goes and gets all the data.. HOWEVER!!! With roles this is not the case as SAP enters a multi-level-special key that does not get updated as changes are made, an once you enter a role into a transport you MUST release it before you make any changes to the role or delete it from the transpport[all the references] ( there is an OSS note that warns this)
So do not put a role in a transport until you are ready to release it.
