Question:
I would like to know how user authorizations are managed for Portals as there are no transactions involved with BAPIs.
Answer:
Hi Tushar,
User authorization in EP cal be done at different levels.
They can be set at different PCD object levels (roles...) or can also be set at System Administration -> Permissions -> Portal Permissions.
Here, you would get Portal Content, just select the object you want to set authorization and set the same.
Hope this answered ur query.

Answer:
Thanks Ritu for your clarification.
I have few more queries. First let me clarify that though we are using SAP EP for this project. For future projects we would be migrating to IBM portal platform.
My question is that how backend (SAP R/3) authorizations should be managed. We manage R/3 authorization based on Transactions. However, in case of portal there are no transactions involved.
