Info on rec/client?

Question: Hi guys!!
Could anyone tell me where I can get information on how to configure rec/client? I am not talking about turning it on. I am asking about how you decide what tables to log. I understand that by default once turned on it records all tables!! The information I am getting is very confusing. John A. Jarboe help!!!

Answer:
Only the functional team can tell you what they consider "critical" and should be logged, generally the tables are Client independent tables and are most often configuration tables that can seriously impact SAP integrity.

Most companmies have a "golden" client where the source of all config is transported to other systems and they turn table loggin on in this development client.

Turning on table logging does NOT log every table only EVERY table MARKED for logging ( SE11 technical settings) and only tables that the contents are changed.

The criteria for determaning if logging is required is:
1. is the data critical and represent a potential high risk high potential loss to company? Consider loggin but see #2 and #3 first.
2. Is there already a change history or change document produced? If yes, no log
3. Will the system let you change the data in a "production" client? if no, then no logging.
