i dont know if iam posting this topic in the correct forum. I got a requirement from the functional consultants during HR implementation time to restrict access to certain infotypes in the transaction to maintain HR user data (pa30). In this particular transaction there is option for selecting the payroll types and displaying wages of different people in our oganisation. for example if there are four different types of HR units in our organisation like non-management , management etc.... which are numbered from 1 to 4 . we need to restrict people according to there level. suppose if one is from non management level then he should just be displayed the details of that particular level. So what i would like to know is if there is any way of restricting according to particular infotypes.
Your valuable suggestions are required. My sap ver is 46c.

Answer:
Sure, just use the P_ORGIN authorization object and grant access to only the desired infotypes (field INFTY) for a certain set of employees. The set of employees can be controlled by personnel area, employee group or employee subgroup (fields PERSA, PERSG or PERSK, respectively). Hope this helps.
