In general profiles should not be created manually.
Generated profiles by profile generator (PFCG)should be used.
Is it a good recommendation to have naming convention for these profiles generated using PFCG??

I change the profile names as it allows me to see the link between profiles and the roles they are generated for. This is useful in a few situations e.g. using some of the the US* tables, user change docs (although profile text is there which will contain role info), checking user access etc.

Most of the SUIM reports uses profile names and it becomes useless to use these reports with SAP generated profile names. If you need to use these reports, device your own naming standards else you are ok.

We can also use the role name as the profile name. It helps to know which profile belongs to which role. Easy to maintaine and trouble shoot
