Answer:
Dear snowy,
The account was not lock. From the change documents, I found out that someone set the password to inactive. I tried to reset the password with different password, but it still gives me the same message-password deactivated.
It happen only to our company's live system. When i try to deactivate a password in our test server, i just have to reset the password and it'll be OK.
Any clues??
Answer:
have you implemented CUA..
if yes then you have to activate it in the parent system for all systems.

Answer:
Are you on different patch levels on your test system and live system?
Answer:
Dear all,
Our test and live system are both using the same patch level.
I am working as the user administrator in this company, but not part of Basis. What the basis personnel told me is that my account does not have enough authorizations to reactivate it by resetting the password(after I delete and recreate that ID).
However, for authorization issues, doesn't the system prompt out an error message?
Though the case had been closed, i am still curious about what's gone wrong.
Any clues?
TQ all
Answer:
Go in SU01, under the Logon data tab. You should see 2 icons next to the password field : one is for creating a password, the other is for deactivating passwords for that user.
Someone probably clicked the second icon by mistake.

Yes, that is the case. Someone accidentally click on the deactivation button. The problem is, I can't re-activate it back. Even though i use the password generation button or reset the password manually.

Answer:
Pls be more precise with your narration. when u say u cant re-activate, wat does it mean?
Was there an error message or it just stays the same after you click it.
could it be you do not have the rights to de-activate?

Someone click on the "Deactivate" button, so when the user try to login, there appears a message "You have no password; you cannot logon with password".
So my question is, how to reactivate the password back.

Answer:
Normally, it should be solved with resetting the password - entering a new one or generating.
In your case, if the authorization(of your user) is a problem doubted, then you could check it by trying to reset the password with some other user with proper or full authorizations.
If some other user can reset it, then we can deduce that it's an authorization problem.

Answer:
Hi guys,
had the same problem today and in our system (4.6C) and we don't have the button Deactivate. What I did to solve the problem is that I deleted the user in the CUA for the childsystem and I created the same user again.
If there is another solution, please let me know..
