HI, i would appreciate if someone can enlighten me on the 'm' value in the P_ORGIN object. Currently i am using R and M when granting read access but have no exact idea the necessity of 'M'. It seems like granting 'R' will do the trick.
What is MatchCode and is 'entry help' referring to 'search help in F4' ? i am able to do F4 even without 'M' access.
Can someone advise pls?

Hello guys,
the M authorization level is really for F4 help. You are right, that R is also OK for this, but M helps you to diferentiate between reading whole records in infotypes (R) and searching according data from this infotypes (M).
Example - your user should have read access for infotype 2 in one specified pers.area - ok you give him R for this. If you want him to be able search pers.numbers using names in all pers.areas, you should give him M for them. This means - he could see all pers numbers with the name he has specified, but the detail in IT2 only for pers numbers in his area of responsibility.
