Question:
Hi all
Can anyone tell me if the GUI 640 will work with ITS 610 with regards to SSO single sign-on?
I know that we should really upgrade ITS as 610 is no longer supported but it would be useful in the meantime to know if they would work together!
Any advice appreciated
Cheers
Adrian (Derson)
Answer:
I do not know if this will help you, but we have a 4.6C SAP R/3 system which we use SAPGUI Version 6.40 to log on with, and we have had no problems.
My understanding is that the GUIs are backward compatible to older systems. The only issue you may get is the rendering of the stoplights in the 6.40 GUI may turn your stomach as it did mine a while back

Thanks Moggie
Managed to get it working with GUI 640 and ITS 610 - actually turned out to be some missing registry entries on the Windows app server running the GUI. Here are the details :
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\SAP\SAPGUI]
"StartSaplogon"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\SAPGUI]
"StartSaplogon"=dword:00000000

Answer:
Hi,
as I know the gui does not needs ITS.
I had some problems with SSO because the SAP BSP pages uses MYSAPSSO2 cookies but the ITS610 supports only MYSAPSSO cookie. Only ITS620 has a parameter to switch between MYSAPSSO and MYSAPSSO2.
