Question:
Hi, firstly apologies for the dodgy subject title. This is my problem... I am working on a SAP upgrade with some new functionality and the end users are required to complete training courses before they are given the access in the SAP system. I am struggling to find a way of only releasing part of their access once they have attended training course A and then another part of the access once they have attended training course B etc. We are using composite roles to reflect 'jobs' which are made up of child roles to reflect processes within that job.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
M.
Answer:
The only way to do this with standard functionality is to assign the roles when they are needed... You can't assign part of a role - especially not when using composite roles. You can use the valid from function on the role tab to assign the role automatically the day after the course is complete.
Answer:
Thanks Henrik, I was pretty sure there was no technical way to do it using standard functionality. I was wondering if anyone out there knew of a way of doing it using a non-standard approach or if anyone had used a good process for handling this sort of issue.
Many thanks.
Regards
M.
Answer:
If the roles you have match a job (which they should do), then change your training to be job based rather than (new) function based.
