Question:
Hi,
I know via P_PERNR you can either use the values I or E to include or exclude the staff Id. But is there some way to allow access to only viewing your own data?
Thanks,
Jaynick

Answer:
P_PERNR is only checked if the infotype you try to access relates to your own personal number.
Other personal numbers are checked in P_ORGIN, so just omit access to the infotypes in question in P_ORGIN (or other P_ORG* objects depending on what you have enabled).
Answer:
For eg. Im a end user and want to view all infotypes related to my staff no. only. So the infotype field will be *.
It's the ability to only view your own info I'm concerned with. Can this be done via PA20?
Hope that clarifies my request a bit.
Thanks,
Jaynick

Answer:
Sorry if my answer was not clear enough.
Yes you can give access to only viewing own information via PA20 as long as you stick with P_PERNR and do not give access to P_ORGIN. Just be careful in combination with other roles, since this might provide some unwanted access.
Personally I would not give access to PA20 to a "normal" enduser though. In my opinion this is only to be used for users in a HR related position.
Answer:
Oh ok, sorry never got you the first time round. Thanks for replying. Yes I do agree with you about giving access to PA20. I actually already notified them that only HR must have that ability. Once ESS is in place we can then start providing end users with that access.
Regards,
Jaynick
