Exporting the SAP menu?

Question: Hi,

Can somebody please tell me if there's a way to export the SAP standard menu? If there is then how could I do that?

Thanks!

Answer:
why export it?

will you import it afterwards?
Do you want a copy in MS-Word?
Do you want to print it?<

What is your real need?

Have a look at SE43 and menu S000 but I concur with Snowy that it seems a strange request.

Hi!

I basically want to know which txns are all present on the SAP standard menu and under which nodes?

Believe it or not but we using a customised menu which includes many SAP txns. We looking to get rid of it with our upgrade. I want to see how many of the txns we use are on the standard menu and where they located?

Any other way I can achieve this if the standard menu cannot be downloaded to Excel?

Thanks!!!

Hi Jaynick,

As Rosie stated, S000 in tr SE43 shows the SAP menu. Open the relevant nodes, hit the print button and save the print preview to a local file.
(system -> list -> save......)
This can be imported in Excel. Do mind that you'll need to open all branches in the menu before generating the print preview.

Hi, yes thanks. Only problem with that is that there are quite a few nodes that do not expand when I hit the "Expand all" button. Then when I try to expand it manually it ends up in this infinite loop and I end up expanding the same node over and over and over.

Thought maybe there's some way/txn via which all info can be downloaded that I wasn't aware of. If there's any other suggestions it's most welcome.

Thanks again,
Jaynick

I've noticed that. The expand all button seems to do something more when you hit it multiple times.
Otherwise you can try splitting your task in the subsections, i.e. expand Logistics and export, then Accounting, etc.

Good luck!

Thanks jurjen. I've tried that as well and doesn't seem to work well. Oh well if there's no other way out then I guess I have to live with it.

Thanks,

hey there. not that strange a request, had something similar before;

look at the tables that tcode search_sap_menu uses, in debug.

I think these were useful;

TMENU01 - gives the nodes and subfolders structures
+
TMENU01_T gives the node names
+
TMENU01_R gives the tcodes

This is only looking at Ref Types TCOD - thre are a lot more

TTREET was useful for us cos we were looking at area menus

then you could do something clever with the parent-child node relationship GUIDS in access/excel

Jaynick, create a test role and copy the coplet SAP menu in the menu tab. Save role the use program PRGN_PRINT_AGR_MENU to print the menu for the newly created role. ensure the Ouptut with transaction code radio buttn is selected.

save the resulting display to file....

you can alos run the job as background and then use the utput to export to file.
