my chief has given a task. He's asked me about user activity in last month (in april) - who and from where and how much they worked at that time and what they did. Where could i see it from SAP.

If so, sm20 would be a good place to start

Answer:
The user activity is logged in summary fashion in the table MONI by the collector program and can be seen in ST03 (though it is not as friendly as you like for your purpose). You can write code to analyse this data in the format you like. The default in the system is upto 3 months data collected on a monthly basis.
THe audit log is "turned" on with system parameter rsau/enable and there are several other required to fine tune the process most have the word AUDIT int he parameter
