Hi,
I'm a Basis guy saddled with some authorization work. I have installed SAP TREX 7.00 and the installation guide says to create a TREX user of type System and says :-
"The user only requires permission to execute function modules remotely."
Any ideas on what Roles/Profiles to use to achieve this?

Check standard SAP role SAP_BC_USR_CUA_CLIENT_RFC. You will need to copy/modify it if needed. Basically you should be interested in authorization object S_RFC (Authorization check for RFC access).
