HCM Structured Auth with Standard Auth -Indirect Role Assmnt

Question: Gurus,

I am currently at a client who is implementing SAP ECC 6.0. One of components will be the HCM piece of ECC. We are planning to use structured authorization and indirect role assignment. I am aware that the HR authorization piece and the standard authorization piece are separate. But we are going to use indirect role assignment for both pieces. The users will receive their HR authority (ESS) along with their standard authorization (FI, SD, etc...) via the position that they are assigned. My question is how would one define standard roles (non-HR roles) to inherit Organization values from the position-to-role relationship? What is the process? An example would be two AP Clerk positions that reside in two seperate areas of the enterprise structure; with differing company codes and cost centers. I would want to define one role and assign it to both positions consequently obtaining the needed organization values from the position-to-org. structure relationship. Any insight is appreciated!

As I reread what I typed here I realized that this probably could not be satisfied without the use of derived roles. Though I would still appreciate any insight.

Answer:
What you want is only possible in HR, not for any other Orglevel.
So for any role that is not part of the Structural Authorisations in HR you must create derived variants and assign them according to the values to the right positions in the org structure in HR.
