Question:
Hello All
We recently upgraded to ECC 7.0 for Portals and rolled-out ESS to a pilot group of employees. It has been successful........so far.
My question has to do with a supervisor approving a leave request. When the supv logs on, his Universal Work List appears. He selects the link for the employee who has submitted a Leave Request. He is then taken to a new screen which looks like a small spreadsheet with a list of the leave requests to approve for that employee. The "Review" and "Approve" button do not appear. He selects the Leave and is taken to a new screen with the "Approve" button. He selects "approve" and is taken to another screen with the "review" button. He selects "review" and is taken to a screen with the "approve" button. He selects "approve" and the leave is approved.
My question is .....Does your system react this way?? I mean, you select the leave, approve the leave, review the leave and finally approve the leave??? It seems an additonal step has somehow creeped into our process. I thought in 6.0 you only selected review and then approve.
Thank you for your comments,
Vic
Answer:
Hi Vic
We have recently upgrade to ERP2005 EP7 with backend ECC6.
Yes we are experiencing the same process, it also gets annoying if the manager receives leave requests from more than one employee because when the manager clicks on it it loads the list but the list includes all employees that have submitted requests. This has caused us problems as some of our approvers process hundreds of leave requests per day.
To overcome this problem we have created a transaction in the backend where by approves can approve or reject multiple entries. I think we used report RPTARQAPP and adapted this.
We also had the problem that once the manager had approved the request the link 'what do you want to do next' caused an error. We have recently applied stack 7 to the portal and this has removed the link, however it has also removed all the other 'what do you want to next'. Hey we are having fun here.
You will find the Business Package for Employee Self Service (mySAP ERP)2005) advising on the process on page 74.
Best wishes
