Hello - does any one have any experience with MSS and BW reporting?
We have a requirement to implement BW reports to Line Managers through MSS.
For R/3 Reports we have no issue as we can use the standard structural authorisation function module to restrict access to empoyees directly reporting to the manager.
How can we restrict BW reports in the same way? i.e. When Manager runs the report they should only see data about the employees that report to them in the Org structure.

Do you or anyone else know if this would work using structural authorisations in R/3 built using the function module RH_GET_MANAGER_ASSIGNEMENT ?
From looking at the document I can't see any mention of it??

Mike, we are using RH_GET_ORG_ASSIGNEMENT, so I cannot answer for sure. However, I executed each FM and both returned the same value.
I would be surprised if it did not work. That being said, I think you need to set something up in your dev stream and run a few tests.

Thanks JFK... That is great news. Yes will need to demo it but just wanted to get some clarification before doing it.
My only concern was that the function modules in R/3 calculate the employees to view at run time - and was not sure how this would be captured and fed to BW.
To confirm you are RH_GET_ORG_ASSIGNEMENT in R/3 and are able to replicate this access in BW through the method described in the doc.
How many users have this access in BW and do you experience any performance issues in BW as a result.
