How do I solve this? It is not done by assigning a user to a user group in su01.

Answer:
Your other option , which eliminates the constant maintenance of user groups is to assign the query to a role using the "add Report" buttom and creating a tcode to run the report. You do not need user groups when you do this and whoever gets the role assigned to them cna run the reports.
