to create these ESS user, we can use su01, su05, hruser?
hruser -> for creating ess user
su05 -> same as hruser

Generally ESS uses workplace and they have to be in the workplace and R/3. HRUSE is a tcode that lets you create SU01 users with a preset template.

If there is an active CUA environment, HRUSER will create ESS ID/password in Workplace and distribute ID back to R/3 and also update IT0105 subtype 0001. You need not worry about keeping ID/password in sync between WP and R/3.

right... was thinking about this recently and u replied.. thanks desmond. but i used su01 to create the user in workplace and this was propagate to r/3. and the infotype 105 is being updated with subtype 0001 as well, right?
but the current problem i am facing now is that one of our users had problems receving emails in his lotus notes. Basiaclly, his staff will apply leave on ESS. Afterwhich, an email will be sent to the user who is going to approve the leave in his lotus notes. Once approved, his staff will receive an email in his lotus notes. The problem now is that his staff gets an email in his lotus notes while the approver did not receive any emails at all.
I have no problems with the rest of the users except this particular one to approve leave with the process described in the first post. i have done automatic forwarding for this user already but still not working.
