It is possible to restrict the to display only, generally only done if your procurement is all via the cats so Source is always predefined, what you've got to ask is what happens if an item is required outside of this. Do you want a VN to be suggested by the SC user or passed to procurement to check and clear. It can save time if the SC user helps in this process, so I advise to leave it open to change.
