Question:
Hello folks,
I am in dire straits buddy. I wanna transfer the results to batch master record when UD is taken. Have done all the steps and rechecked and rechecked but in vain. It's not updating in the batch master.I do not know where I went wrong. As per as the procedure for the batch char update I have followed every step. Can any body help me to sort this problem please?

Check the follwing
1) Material is activted for Batch Mgmt
2) class char X ( restrictions 001, 022) attched to batch Class Y
3) MIC linked to Class Char
4) In the classification view - The batch class Y shows the char u have attached X.
THe mic range is within or equal to the batch class value.
U R thru.
If they are not in Sync - during UD u will get a message that the lot is partiallly valuated -this means that the insp results would not go to the batch.
After UD and stock posting, goto MMBE , double clcik on the lot and check the batch Classification tab( the insp result avlue should appear!! then its tranferred to teh batch)

I have done all the steps what you have suggested and also in IMG the batch valuation without material spec is activatged(since inspection plan is being used) in plant level setting.
So I am at a loss as to what is the problem?. Is there anything to do in IMG other than this or do you have any lead to procees further.

Make sure the characteristics in the inspection plan are still linked. I.e. if you unlocked the MIC in the plan to change a spec or a control indicator, it won't transfer.

the mic is linked in the inspection plan. I don't know where is the fault. I have checked in the IMG in MM for valuation in the movement types.It's activated. I have done all the steps necessary for this process. But still in I am not able to transfer the results.
Any body out there to help me please?

I am in 4.6b and I unlock the MIC in quality plan to avoid creation of som many MICs . But the result values are still getting transferred to the batch characteristics. Does it npt happen in 4.6c?

I presume u have done all the necessary batch management settings in IMG.
1) Check -IMG-> Logistics general-> Bacth Management -> Batch valuation-> Update standard chractersitics.
I think it'll go thru.

REcheck all settings (it works for me in 4.7)
1) Class char created with restric 001, 022 with max range
2) Attach class char to a Batch Class ( of type 022).
3) Batch class is attched to the Mat in MM02 classification view
( this should show the class char and value (range)
4) Class cahr attached to MIC
5) Insp Plan - mic attached -> unlocked and values chaged for that material - see that the range is within the batch class range.
6)Batch Mgmt Settings
a) IMG-> Log Gen-> Batch Mgmt -> Sp Batch Mgmt and Active stsus mgmt-> Plant with Batch stsus mgmt -> activate plant
b)IMG-> Log Gen-> Batch Mgmt -> Sp Batch Mgmt and Active stsus mgmt-> Creation of New batches
Activate for process/prod order
Activate for movement type
c) IMG-> Log Gen-> Batch Mgmt -> Sp Batch Mgmt and Active stsus mgmt-> Bacth valuation
Activate Bactch valuation for movement types
and specify wherther foregroungd / bacjkgroud
101, 131 ( GR ) 309, 310 ( mat 2 ,mat transfer
321 ( QI to unres) give foreground so u can see
I guess u will be thru now..Check and let me know.

Dear APM,
I have done all the settings as suggested by you. I am not changing the range anywhere. I have given for ex the range in class char as 2-3 mm. In classificaton for material also I have maintained the same range. In the inspection plan also I have maintained the same range 2-3 mm without unlocking i.e. still the MIC is reffering the class char(Lock sign is also visible for the characterstic). When I do the UD in the status bar I am getting the message classificaiton is being done but when I go to the batch master reocrd the resutls are not being updated. I am just not understanding. And you know but strangely for one batch it got updated. It's really strange and I am surprised. So is there anything missing or anything to be done in IMG.
Inputs are highly appreciated.
