MCI7, no data showing

Question: Hi,

on the Maintenance reporting side.

I can find data for MCI3,5,8.

but on MCI7 it won't display any data?

anybody?

Multitrax

Answer:
Hi Multitrax,

MCI7 is updated from the MTTR/MTBR report (TCode MCJB for equipment and MCJC for Functional Location). When you execute the MTTR/MTBR report, there is a pushbutton there that says "Update Info Structure." This is the only time that data will be transferred to MCI7.

Hope it helps.

Answer:
thanks for the info,

I might sound stupid now, "Where do I find this?"

is there a specific transaction?

thanks

Multitrax

Answer:
Multitrax,

You can use transaction codes MCJB for equipment or MCJC for functional locations, as indicated in my previous post.

When you are on the initial screen of MCJB or MCJC, enter an equipment number (or a functional location number) and click on execute.

When you get to the report itself, you should find the pushbutton "Update info structure."

Hope this clears it out for you.

Answer:
thanks,

I guess I missed that in the original message.

Mb,

I am having the same problem as multitrax, MCI7 won't display any data. I have tried as you suggested "update info structure' at MCJB...but still getting no data at MCI7.....

Anything that I missed here?

Multitrax,

Did u manage to get data displayed via MCI7?

Answer:
Bohn84,

I am not really sure why no data is displayed in the MCI7 report. Please give me the steps you did so we can evaluate the situation.

Answer:
hi,
check if you have filled the 'Start-up' Date field in the equipment/FLOC master, coz system takes this date for calculating the MTBR. If this is not set then the end date of the the first malfunction will be taken into account..therefore you should have alteast two malfunctions for calculating the MTBR if the satrt-up date was not given in the master.
hope this helps!

Answer:
Thanks mb and Chandra.

I think I know the problem . What I did earlier was I run MCJB with a range of the equipments , when the results came back with a list of equips' breakdown, mtbr etc , I then clicked on the info update struc, but nothing happened. Then I tried to click once on one of the equips and then clicked onthe update info structure button and walla I got a meesage info struc updated. So at the same screen/result, I did for a few more equips.

But then after that when I run the MCI7 for those equips that I did update structure info in MCJB, I would get extra lines of breakdowns etc. In other words the result are not tallied with what being listed out at MCJB. Then I realized that I could not update info structure for more than 1 equip at one go. I need to update info structure for 1 equip at a time using this MCJB . If I do this, then only I would get correct number of breakdown, MTTR, MTBR etc in MCI7.

Questions; Are you seeing the same thing at yr place .? We are using 4.6C .Is doing it (update info structure) in MCJB the only way of getting MCI7 updated with data? Do we need to do this everytime we need to see data in MCI7? If it is going to be one equip at a time then it's going to be a real painful to update...We have quite few equips to update... help me!!

Appreciate yr help.

Hi,

We have the same issue. Many updates = a lot of time for someone. Is there a way for multiple structure updates? or a method for batching this task?

Also someone mentioned in an earlier thread about the weird numbers shown in this screen i.e. Meantime between repairs = Equipment uptime since installed date. Is there a way reconfigure the formulae or change these key figures to show the correct figures?

Happy to hear of any work arounds or suggestions.

Bothy

Answer:
hi,
i am on 4.7 and MCI7 is working fine..i am not updating using MCJB..it happens automatically in the background. I may be wrong but check the following:
1. Update group '26' exists for Application '07' in LIS > Maintain update groups (SPRO)
2. Update group for notifications is '26' (PMIS: General), while configuring the notification type
3. In Tranx. OMOS, check the period unit and Updating type for your info structures...my update type is 2 (asynchronous) and period unit is M...

Hi bohn,
step1 Tranx: SPRO
Path: Logistics-General > Logistical information System > Logistics datawarehouse > Updating >Updating defination > General defination using update groups > Maintain update groups

also check the update rules
Path: Logistics-General > Logistical information System > Logistics datawarehouse > Updating >Updating defination > Specific defination using update rules > Maintain update rules

step 2 Tranx. SPRO
Path : Plant maintenance & CS > Maintenance processing >Maintenance & service notifications > Notification creation > Notification types > Define notification types
