i'm making afresh PO of 76 items and also done the GR for that. But automatic creation of Inspection lot happens only for 19 items, but all the items are shown in inspection stock. So QM is unable to clear remaining items due to unavailabilty of inspection lot for the remaining items.
please help at the earliest.....

Answer:
Hai Guest,
Please check the following points:
1. Check all materials choosen for QM view in Material master and Goods receipt Inspection type active and inspection plan with inspection characterisitcs.
2. Present QM stocks without inspection lots can move through MB1B transaction with movement type 321.
3. If you maintain all reqirements as mentioned in point 1 next goods receipt will create inspection lots for all materials in the PO/GR.

Answer:
Please compare material which is not cteated inspectionlot in the Goods receipt with material which is created the lot in all aspects of inpection plan and QM view and material specifications.
You will definely know the difference and do the correction accordinly.

Answer:
If all items are in QI then chances are you have the materials set up ok. But my guess is that you are using QE51n to look for the inspection lots and the 'missing' items are associated with inspection lots in a CRTD and not a REL state.
Use QA32/QA33 to see if you can find these lots. If you can, then use QA02 to determine the problem, i.e. missing inspection plans, missing sampling procedures, etc..
Another way to identify the inspection lots. If any of these are batch managed products, you can also go to MSC3n and display the batch. From there under Extras-->Inspection Lots you'll get a listing of all associated inspection lots. (4.6c).

Answer:
Hi
As others suggested check for the Inspectin status for all the material. I think out of 76 only 19 materials has got Inspection setup at material master and Inspection plan for the same.
Identify the remaining material and check for the inspection setup and inspection plan.
If it is not there then activate inspection type 08 for the materials for which the stocks are in Quality.
Create inspection plan for the above materials in case if it is not there.
Ensure whether inspection type 08 is active and inspection plan for the materials are available then go to QA08 give the material and execute.

Hi Gurus,
I had simillar kind of situation For lat few days. In my case , alternatively some times lots are getting created and same materials lots are not getting created. I have Inspection type 04 activated for those materials.Production confirmation happens partially( Shift Wise). We run the production in 3 shifts.
Can any Body suggest some thing on this.
Answer:
Are you 100% sure you have valid inspection plans with validity dates that fall after the key dates of the inspection lot for all materials?

Answer:
Hi Craig,
All settings I have checked and are correct upto my knowledge.
as I am telling for one material for one day I am getting lots created and QI stocks getting updated. But on some day same material behaves differently . I am not getting Inspection lots at all. when I am checking GR for this material and click on the Inspection Lot Tab System gives the message plan is not assigned.
Thanks

Answer:
Ok.. i'm getting a little confused with your terminology. You say your not getting inspection lots at all. But then in the next sentence you say that when you go to the GR and go to the inspection lot tab it says that no plan is assigned.
Each problem points to different things! If the inspection lots are not getting created, then that can be caused by any one of a number of things.
If the plan isn't being assinged, that can be caused by any one of a DIFFERENT set of issues!
Which is it? If it is that the plan is not assinged, please give us the list of system status's assigned to the inspection lot in error. That might help us.

Answer:
Hi,
I would recommend three things:
1: Check your setting in the material master QM view field called "Lot for matl doc items" (control insLot if you are on 4.7) for the inspection type 01. You might be receiving the same material (or batch) against the same PO and the setting in this field is skipping the creation of the new inspection lot. Instead it will post to an existing lot against the same PO, if it is open. Again, it depends on what setting exists for the material.
2: Please spell out the problem clearly so that sitting remotely in a diff world with diff scenarios, we can understand the problema dn suggest solution.
3: take 2 minutes and create your sign-on.
good luck

Hi,
Thanks for your replies/suggessitions.
Dear Craig / Anand,
What I am trying to say is ,Say I have Material 'X' . For this material I am getting inspection LOT today. But for the same material 'X' I am not getting any inspection lot some day. But where as against that Production GR the quantity is getting updated in Quality Stocks.
To release this we are using ZEQAVAC20 program from SAP.
That means Inspection plan is there for material 'X'.
But When I check the particular GR for which inspection lot has not got created and click on inspection lot tab ,I get the message as inspection plan not assigned. There seems to be some updation problem.
Inspection lot can not be seen at all , how ever the system updates the Quality stocks.
Dear Anand,
In QM view, setting for Control lots is for each material document, material, batch, storage location.
You are right Production Order is for the day and GR from production is on shift basis i.e. 3 times in a day.
I am not able to clear the quantity using lot nos as explained earlier I am using SAP program for this.
Thanks. Hope I am clear in my communication

Answer:
If you are consistenly having to use ZEQAVAC20 (which I believe is used to correct issue between QI/MM) to correct/release your QI stocks then you probably have something seriously wrong in your system.
I think I have only used that program a half of dozen times in the past 9 years. And then it was mostly in 3.x systems.
To have that many problems on a regular basis, I think you must have some user exit or custom transactions running that are doing something they shouldn't be. I think it would be worth your while to submit an OSS request and have SAP get into your system and review the problem.
Please let us know how this turns out.
