User Exit IWO10020

Question: I am in the process of preparing a detailed design document for the management of instrument calibration using SAP PM/QM. The calibration requirements will be in a tasklist which, will either be scheduled or copied manually into an MO if an adhoc calibration is required.

I intend to use user exit IWO10020 to automatically include an object specific tasklist when the user creates a calibrartio order using IW31/IW34. Has anyone out there used this UE and if so would you be so kind as to give an outline of the coding required to assign the task list to the order.

Answer:
Hi,

Never actually used this user-exit before.

I'll try have a look at it today.

One question; you say you are going to use object related TL (ETL or FLTL). However, an object can have may TLs, how are you going to automatically choose the correct one - strategy, classification?

This is for my benefit also!!!!

Answer:
Hi Chiel,

You need to code the selection of task list in this user exit.
say you now have the details in form
i_PLNTY
i_PLNNR
i_PLNAL

Then pass these parameters to a memory ID.
Activate User Exit : IWO20001

Import these parameters to this exit.

Then pass them as :

SEL_TAB-PLNTY = i_PLNTY.
SEL_TAB-PLNNR = i_PLNNR.
SEL_TAB-PLNAL = i_PLNAL.
APPEND SEL_TAB.

That should do it.

Give it a try and see if it works

Answer:
SEL_TAB isn't available within the exit, the only parameter is structure CAUFVD_IMP, in my naivety I had hoped that I could :

CAUFVD_IMP-PLNTY = cPLNTY
CAUFVD_IMP-PLNNR = cPLNNR
CAUFVD_IMP-PLNAL = cPLNAL

and SAP would take care of the rest. The exit does provide sample code, one of which is a call to PERFORM FCODE_PLSI(SAPLCOIH) which in itself is a typical Waldorf coding exercise. Looks as if my 12 hr estimate may well come back and bite me

I am planning to use a specific planner group to locate the calibration group counter.

Any further insight is greatly appreciated.

Answer:
theChiel,

As bhartiaa suggests, try user-exit IW0100021 NOT IW0100020

In this user-exit you will find the internal table SEL_TAB

Not sure how SAP intended to use IW0100020 unless its used to display a pop-up which the user enters data?????

Answer:
Oops, should have read the reply more closely, I didn't relise that Ashish was referring to a different UE

I activated IWO20001 and it worked fine, unfortunately you need to goto the menu path Extras->TaskList Selection->User Specific before it is activated. A good step forward as the users will have the option of having the system determine their task list or they could go thru the 'To object reference' path. Thanks Ashish

It looks as if IW010020 will present a task list selection screen, that you can determine via the exit, but the user then still has go thru the selection process of the particular task list type. I'll keep on plugging away to see if something else crops up.

Answer:
Just something else to try (bearing in mind I'm not in SAP at the moment)

If IWO100020 and IWO100021 share the same function group then you may find internal table SEL_TAB is available in both UEs (even though its not in the FM import/export parameters!!!).

Try using the same IWO100021 code in UE IWO100020 and see if it works.

Let us know.... Always good to keep a record of how these UEs are used

Chiel,

Please check up, something is surely wrong. If you code as I have stated, the task list should be automatically included and you need not go to the the menu path.

I have actually used this Exit (when creating from Iw31 / 81) and the Exit to include task list in order when creating from notification (iw21/22/51/52/34) and the task list is automatically populated. Though I do not give user a select option as I have my own logis to find the relevant task list.

Hope it helps.

Answer:
Hi,

May be I was not that clear (as Chiel had asked for IWO10020), I gave the required to activate this CE. In this you do not have sel_tab available but have to pass it through the other CE IWO20001. And combined they both work to put in the task list in the Order.

While CE IWO10021 has sel_tab avialable and hence can be used directly to populate task list.

Hope it clarifies and helps

Translation for anyone whose interested.

Hey Chiel, are you a tough country person, do you know what I am saying?
I am sure that you don't.
There are alot of country people out where I live, as tough as old boots running around like mad.
What do you like to drink? Are you partial to a scotch whiskey now and again. Most country people I know like a good ?????? now and again, what makes you stand out from the rest? What sort of tractor do you drive? Is it a Massey Ferguson or a John Deere?

A Chiel walks into a a ski shop to get some boots, first time on the slope so he is not familiar with the equipment. The shop assistant gets a pair of boots which are put in front of the chiel to try on. The chiel hesitates, looking quizically at the boots in front of him. Anything I can help you with asks the shop assistant ?

"Aye, fit fit fits fit fit" replies the Chiel.

If you are from Scotland this is actually quite funny

Answer:
Fair play to the chiel who can tell the difference between his feets and his fits. I just hope he/she is just as good with the maintenance plans!
