Did IP30 schedule all of the calls required

Question: I am looking for a way to get a list of plans (actually items) that will have calls scheduled in a period (future/or present). When I try IP24, I get an incomplete list. When I use IP19, it appears to show the simulated calls in the required date range. But, I need it in a list. With IP30 not generating an ‘on hold’ call in all cases, there is no way to quickly check what is coming up, or if all of the call required for this week have been made.
How can you overseeing preventive maintenance to insure the required orders are made with well over 400 items.
Regards,
Geoff

Answer:
Geoff,

Another one of those annoying SAP problems.

There is no listing of future maintenance calls in standard SAP

What I have done a few times now is to copy the Graphical Report (can't remember the TCode) to a new program. Then cut out all the graphical crap leaving you with a list. The list can then be either displayed and/or downloaded.

Another common problem is to show all present/future maintenance calls along with open PM/CS Orders. Again there is no standard solution.

Answer:
Geoff,

IP24 will work fine to list out in a table the future dates of your maintenance. The catch (as I found it) is to ensure that the scheduling period that is entered when creating a maintenance plan is long enough to show the future listings. For example, say that you have a maintenance plan that has one maintenance item with a (1) month package assigned to it. Now say that you entered 6 months in the maintenance plan scheduling period field. Now, if you use IP24 to see 12 months of future dates for this plan you will only see 6. If you go back into the plan and change the scheduling period to 12 months and run IP24 again you will see the 12 future dates.

I hope this helps.

Answer:
Geoff,

For the second part of your problem of IP30 not creating all your calls, I am experiencing that too. On one particular plan I found that the IP30 batch job skipped the first few calls then generated them plus one more at the same time. By viewing these calls in IW38, they look like duplicates, but they are not. Each having a different call number.

In the OSS notes, SAP lists an electronic bandaid for duplicate calls that is apparently resolved in version 4.7. This patch does not exactly fit the problem I am having or the one that you seem to have, but maybe it will give you some ideas.

Answer:
Geoff,
We also faced the same problem as the SAP standard reports does not display the future call dates. They give only Planned dates.

We created a query (Transaction SQVI : Queryviewer)using table MHIS with fields WARPL, ABNUM, ZAEHL, HORDA (call date) and other required fields.

Answer:
Kuk,

I think Geoff is referring to the Future dates option in the graphical report (IP19).

These Future dates are not in any of the tables since they have not been scheduled yet (MHIS).

The Future dates function simulates these dates and displays them in a graphical format.

However, the list report (IP24) does not have the Future dates function, therefore you cannot report on these simulated "future dates".

This is the reason for my original reply above

PeteA, PJA, and SRS,
Thanks for the information. Pete, Yes I was talking about the future dates in IP19. Also your idea of reworking a copy of the graphic program is probably the answer on the report.
I am still having problems with calls. By changing the Interval for Call Objects days in IP30 to less than the cycle period (running it now each day). I am getting all of the calls. I still have one plant that wants their weekly orders out two weeks in advance. (Order to be done on 8/9/04 to be created on 7/26/04. I’ve tried changing scheduling parameters with no luck. The best I can do is having it created 1 week (100% of cycle) ahead.

Answer:
Geoff,

First of all I would suggest you open a new message so that everyone recognises it as a new/different question.

I guess from you last post that your Call Horizon is 100% and that the smallest Strategy Package is 1 week. Is this correct, if so, then enter this data in your new post.
