Can anybody tell me how I can activate Task List Hierarchy in our system please.

Answer:
I get the same error message in my 47 system when trying to run TCode WPSTLH1.

From memory, task list hierarchies are only available in Industry Solution Aerospace & Defence (IS A&D)

Answer:
Thanks for your reply. I think in SAP R/3 Ver 4.6 below, Task List Hierarchy is only available in IS-A&D but in Ver 4.7 it a bit funny. When we implemented in Singapore Airlines, SAP said that IE4N will become standard in Ver 4.7. And they fulfilled there promise. IE4N is now available in Ver 4.7. I also tried to run MEB (T-code: WPS1) and its also available in ver 4.7. What is strange is you cannot proceed in using MEB because you cannot create a Revision Type. Nowhere in config (IMG) can you configure revision type. One thing more is, in order for MEB to work, you need a task list hierarchy. And TLH is not also available in Ver 4.7. How come MEB is there without this two items (Revision type & TLH)

Anybody who can explain this.

Answer:
Hi Carlou,

Kindly share the philosophy on which the MEB works. It will be beneficial to all, as it is a new concept

Thanks

For those who wants to learn MEB:

Maintenance Event Builder

Purpose

The Maintenance Event Builder provides an intuitive, easy to use way to manage maintenance planning. Using the Maintenance Event Builder, you can review maintenance notifications, assign notifications to a maintenance revision, generate any necessary Plant Maintenance or Customer Service orders from the task lists in the notifications, and then assign the work to a project network that represents a maintenance time slot. You can view outstanding work requirements, the due dates for the work, the work orders, and other information relevant to maintenance planning.

Outstanding work requirements can come from different sources. They can be scheduled tasks, such as complete aircraft checks and non-check aligned tasks (for life limited components), or acceptable deferred defects or modifications (for example, based on service bulletins).

Requirements are represented in a list of maintenance notifications. For each notification you can drill down to display the linked task lists and resulting operations that provide the details of the maintenance task.

You can use a task list hierarchy to reflect the structure of work to be performed. The task list hierarchy lets you organize task lists in a hierarchical way in order to group the work. The task lists contain actual operations to be performed in a maintenance event. For more information, see Hierarchical Maintenance Task Lists.

You group notifications into a revision that represents the work package to be performed in a single maintenance event. Available time slots for larger scheduled maintenance events are represented by project networks that are displayed graphically in a maintenance time slot. This lets you view all scheduled maintenance activities at a glance and reallocate any work assignments as necessary.

You can use the Maintenance Event Builder to create the work orders for a revision. When orders are created in the Maintenance Event Builder, the following three steps are performed:

Step 1: Task list hierarchy explosion

Step 2: Exclusion and elimination of task lists

Step 3: Order creation for each task list that remains after Step 2

The orders to perform the work place a material demand on the supply chain in order to trigger the material procurement process.

When you assign a revision to a maintenance time slot, the revision is assigned to a project network. In a second step, you can assign orders to the appropriate project network activity within the assigned network. This sequences the maintenance orders in time according to the project plan.

The Maintenance Event Builder provides functions to simplify maintenance planning. These include:

Displaying outstanding notifications with a visible status alert.
Creating revisions to represent the work package for a single maintenance event. Assigning notifications to a revision. Assigning a revision to a maintenance time slot. Creating the orders necessary to perform the maintenance. Assigning orders to a project network. Printing all work orders belonging to a revision.

Structure

The Maintenance Event Builder screen is divided into the following areas:

Revision navigator
Notification selection area
Revision work area
Slot work area

I hope this will help. You can e-mail me at cjmtorres@yahoo.com for more info.
