Question:
Hello,
Got a problem while issuing goods to a cost centre from a Warehouse.
For example let the material be ‘test001’. The present stock in the warehouse is 80kgs. This material is only stored in the high rack storage (storage type 001). At present all the 80 kgs is in one bin(01-001).
In the Stock Removal Control for storage Type 001 in customizing, the indicators ‘Complete Removal Active’ and ‘Return Stock to same storage bin’ has been selected.
The movement is initiated in IM by posting a goods issue with a movement type 201. And 50kgs is issued. This creates a transfer order automatically.
The transfer order looks like this……
Source Storage type: 001
Source Bin: 01-001
Source Qty : 80 kg
Destination Storage Type : 911
Destination Bin : Dynamically generated
Destination Qty : 50 kg
Return Storage Type : 001
Return Bin: 01-001
Return Qty: 30kg.
Now the actual movement takes place in the WM. Instead of issuing 50 kg, the actual qty issued is 58kg. The transfer order is confirmed with this information.
Now the transfer order looks like this.
Source Target Qty: 80 Kg
Destination Target Qty: 50 Kg, Actual Qty: 58 kg, Diff Qty: -8 kg
Return Target Qty: 30 kg, Actual Qty: 22 kg, Diff Qty: 8 kg.
Once this transfer order is confirmed, the stock situation in the WM is as follows.
Stock in Storage Type ‘001’: 22 kg
Stock in Storage Type ‘911’: 8 kg
The total Stock in WM is 30 Kg.
The stock in IM is also 30 Kg.
But the actual stock in both the systems should be 22 KG.
How do we clear this 8kg in the storage type ‘911’.
I know that I can use the standard functionality to clear the stocks in IM and WM for the storage type 911. But this is not what I am looking for. If I want the 8 kgs to be issued against the costcentre.
Could you guys help me out here.
Answer:
Hi 911:
I know this functionality pretty well, and I will be able to respond to you in the morning.

Hi WM:
I am not even going to refer to the details in your post, because it is very confusing. The formatting of some of the information, is probably not what you intended, and so I can't follow 100% what you describe.
What I will do for you is to explain the normal flow.
1) Post Goods Issue (MIGO_GI or MB1A) with 201 Movement Type
2) This creates a TR in WM, which you can find with LB11
3) Select the corresponding TR and press the create TO button
4) This jumps to LT04, where you create the TO
5) Confirm the TO with LT12
If you look in LS26 after you post the Movement In IM, you will see a negative in Storage Type 911. After you create the TO and confirm it, you actually move the Quantity in WM from the physical bin where it was,
to 911, which clears the negative.
If you try this in a test system, and you are not able to replicate the same process, then, someone has either:
Changed the 201 WM Movement Type or
During the conversion of the TR to a TO,
some strange data was manually entered.
As far as correcting this problem, I would suggest to make a reverse manual TO with WM Movement Type 999, based on the original TO which
created the problem.
A very interesting tip for those of you who want to implement WM in an already running Plant is that you can use the 201 IM Movement Type to post all of the stock to a Cost Center, then activate the WM Interface and number ranges, and then reverse the document with MBST, which will place all of the stock back into Inventory Management, and in WM level, all of the stock will appear in Storage Type 911. From there, you can move it to the proper bins where the material is physically located.

Hi WMQUESTION.
The posting to cost center can only be done in Inventory management.
You posted already 50 to your costcenter.
In WM you transferred and confirmeed 58 kg, which resulted in positive 8 kg in 911.
To clear this 8 kg. You just need to issue the 8 kg in Inventory management to your cost center. If TO is created automatically, then cancel the TO with LT15.
Answer:
Hi Svetja:
Yes and No.
This would certainly clear the difference, but is this what is required
by the business case?
WM follows IM, which means that if it was really intended to Post 50 Kg,
then it does not make sense to post 8 Kgs more in IM.
Ultimately I have to agree with you though, because of the following statement:But the actual stock in both the systems should be 22 KG
If this is really true, and the starting stock was 80, then the original IM posting should have been for 58, and not 50. By Posting the additional 8, the positive 8 in Storage Type 911 will be cleared.
I will add one more point to your advice:
If TO is created automatically, then cancel the TO with LT15.
If the TO is NOT Created automatically, then the user should find the corresponding TR and delete it with LB02.

Sackman,
If this is really true, and the starting stock was 80, then the original IM posting should have been for 58, and not 50. By Posting the additional 8, the positive 8 in Storage Type 911 will be cleared
But how is this possible, posting an additional 8 kgs, does not clear the storage type 911.
Suppose, I do an additional GI in IM for 8kgs
After the Transfer Order is confirmed, I will have the stock as 22 kg in both IM and WM
But if we look at the WM stock, the storage type 001, will have 14 kg, while the storage type 911 will still have 8 kgs
Please help........
Answer:
why did you confirm the transport order of 8 kg?
I said you should delete it. You confirmed a transport you have not done.
This transport was already done with your first TO where you confirmed 8 more than originally ordered.
Now you have to create a manual TO with movement type 999 to transfer the 8 from storage type 911 to 001
Answer:
Hi Guys:
As he almost always is, Svetja is correct in his statements.
The problem what WMQuestion experienced, is that he transferred more in WM (58 Kgs), than he originally posted in IM.
Therefore, as Svetja suggested, all that you had to do to clear the positive 8 Kgs in Storage Type 911 was to Post an IM Movement Type 201 for the additional 8 Kgs, and the situation would have been clean.
You did not have to create another TO for 8 Kgs, because you already moved those 8 Kgs the first time.
If I correctly understood, you did neither of the things that Svetja and I suggested:
A) You did not delete the TR
B) You did not Cancel the TO
In fact, you did EXACTLY what we both told you that you should not do.
You converted the TR to a TO and then you confirmed it.
Now you have 14 Kgs in physical Storage Type XXX and
8 Kgs in Storage Type 911.
Simply create a manual TO (LT01 - WM Movement Type 999), to move the 8 Kgs from Storage Type 911 to Storage Type XXX, and we can FINALLY put this one to rest.
Have a great weekend!!
