In tcode ME21N, on the left hand side, there is document overview function. In my case, I select list of PR from document overview. My question is how can I limit the number of PR that drag to the right hand side to create PO? Let's say one PR contain one material only, and I would like to limit at maximum 50 PR in one single PO, any suggestion how to do? Thanks.

This is a very strange requirement. Please re-look at your requirement as I think by restricting the item in PO, you will not be able to utilize the potential.
Anyway, here is a work-around. Item number field in purchasing doc is 5 character long. So, total number range varies from 00001 to 99999. In document type setting of purchasing document, set the item interval as 2000 (default is 10)!! That way you may be able to restrict the number. But note that, in document level this can be changed and so if somebody manually change the number (although it is a tedious effort), it is possible to enter upto 99999 number of items. Also, in your reports, PO layouts, the document number will be shown as 02000, 04000... etc.

I understand your solution, but I prefer the item interval to keep at 10. Also, it's difficult to control the user type on the item number field.
Because of some reason, I would like to limit the number of items in PO, I just random pick 50 as an example.
Any grouping method in the document overview to group those 50 items, or any user exit to do that....
