Error with MIGO but not with MB1A

Question: I apologise if any mod thinks this is in the wrong forum, but I believe it is an MM issue. Please correct and move if necessary

We have the following scenario in a make to order situation:

A sales order wrt a WBS has an item that is Make to Order, therefore the transfer of requirements is to a production order.
Once the production order is created, the BOM is exploded. The items on the BOM have the Dependent Requirements indicator for individual and collective requirements (Material Master MRP 4 tab) set to ‘1’ Individual requirements. This means that MRP will create Sales Order specific stock for these items.
We have processed all the PO’s, GR’d the items and they are happily sitting in Sales Order stock waiting to be GI’d to the production order. However, once we come to issue the components via MIGO, we get the following messages:

Warning: M7 242 ‘Valuation control in material master and special stock differ’
Error: KI 249 ‘Enter only one true account assignment’

However, if I try to do the goods issue via MB1A and hit the ‘Order’ button and enter the relevant details, we only get the warning M7 242 ‘Valuation control in material master and special stock differ’ and the transaction will post!

Can anyone shed any light as to why this happens? The MTO scenario is new to this business and the users are accustomed to only using MIGO.

Many thanks

Answer:
When you are trying to post Goods Issue through MIGO, plz enter 'Sales Order No' and 'Item No' both the reference that is, '1025000' '10'.
Then it will be posted.

Thanks for the reply.

I apologise, I may not have made my facts clear!

During the Goods Issue to the production order, we only need to enter the production order. The stock is issued to the production order via a 261 E movement. There is no room for input on either MIGO or MB1A for the sales order, and we would not expect there to be as this detail will be on the production order.
You can see during processing in MIGO the sales order AND the WBS element. However, MIGO gives the error and will not allow the posting, but MB1A will.

I hope this clarifies my scenario..

Answer:
Hi,

I think this problem originated from the fact the movement type you have been using was 261E and therefore, the sales order shall be required as this will let SAP know from which particular sales order stock, the quantity of material shall be used.

Cheers,
HT

Answer:
The sales order AND the WBS do exist. The material from the BOM has been procured and account assigned against the sales order, therefore it has to be issued via 261 E. Unless you can recommend another movement?

Many Thanks

That was exactly what I meant. Your original inquiry if I am not mistaken was not to maintain the sales order (but only production order) during GI with movement type 261 E.

Thanks Ha Tran,

Yes I believe that may be it, I just need to know what the causes of this error message is during MIGO, and why I do not get it during MB1A
