Question:
Hi all,
Guess I had a bad day at the office I HAD miniSAP working on my Win2k System just fine. Then attempted to install IDES but ran inti probs listed in my other posting. Wiped SAP to do a fresh MiniSAP install (cos the IDES install stopped miniSAP from working) and guess what-doesn't run now. The install is fine, can't find any errors. But the dispatcher dies with the error listed below.
I've love some help before I tear the rest of my hair out

you are getting somewierd errors. Try updating your R/3 kernel to the latest level.
Also have your system memory checked.

I'm sure my memory is ok. My PC was a sick little puppy a while ago, and I had the repair firm give it the once over and it's running like clock work now. My machine has 512MB RAM and runs Win2K Prof. I don't have a previous SAP Kernel to install - I do fresh install using the MiniSAP 2 CD set. What infuriates me is that it worked before - one of the first things I did when I got the PC back was to install MiniSAP and - voila! - it worked. Now it get's these very, as you rightly say, weird errors.
Given the above, have you any suggestions on how to beat this beast into submission?

this is a corrupted memory/program/disk problem.
As suggested previously, try upgrading SAP kernel... or at least re-try to install them from your CD.
Also check your system path, it may be finding older versions of programs.

Answer:
Typical causes for the errors are:
o The database is not running.
o Database users are not set up correctly.
o The version of DIPGNTAB.EXE does not fit the version of the
database library DBSL (for example, DBORASLIB.DLL). This may
happen if you have replaced the SAP kernel and the DBSL with a
newer version during the installation, but the DIPGNTAB.EXE
however is still in the original version.
Can you check if the above applies to your situation? Also can you checkout what Snowy said?

Hi,
I've searched my system and there's no file called DIPGNTAB.EXE - though there is a DBORASLIB.DLL.
As for the database, MiniSAP runs on SQL Server and it runs fine - that is, it reports no errors and I can see it in the Task manager ok.
I run the install from a user with full admin rights, so access should not be a problem.
With regard to snowys advice, I've deinstalled everything SAP related and started afresh, to try and clear out what is causing the error.
Now when I try to install I get the following:
