Hi,
thanks snowy. Just posting my problem under Basis platform.
My bw system (win 2000/ora 10) is'nt up. Where to look for the problem and how to resolve it.
The oracle db has been updated from 91 to 10.x, since then it’s halted as I have heard from another collegue! Has it something to do with oracle update?
Will be pleased for your thoghts.

Attn.: The oracle services are running, SAPOSCOLL is running, but when start sap from MMC, it brings an error saying “ could not start the sapbw_00 service on local computer
Error : 1069 The service did not start due to a logon failur”
I got a bw0Adm password from the same collegue and started the server. I have access to the windows server. My env.: WIN2000 server / ora 10.x
No peace of mind!

Answer:
It shows logon failure - so ensure that the passwords of Service logon information and OS users are same.
It happens if you have changed OS user password but did not reflect it in Services.
Could be something else as well.. put your dev_w??

hi,
ora listener is running. I can log on to ora from dos box via pl/sql and play around. All oracle services are up, sap oscoll is up, but sapservice retracts and generates the error.
Thanks for making thoughts.
Just keep waiting and seraching for to resolve the problem.

I wrote about password.
Did you check password in SAP<sid> service? Reenter the correct one as the OS user and restart the service.

1. The company has changed hands
2. No domain change actions were performed and no body told me about it
3. I have executed the steps for a domain change on the oracle db per pl/sql
4. Somebody tried to upgrade oracle 9 to 10, but failed and ejected improperly, leaving oracle maimed.
5. The env. variable showed oracle10 lib instead ora9, i have changed it
6. Set SAPService password anew
7. shutdown the server and restarted
8. Vini Vidi Vici SAP BW server revived
