this has something to do with your e-mail server. check with your network-colleagues that domain, user, port, authorizations a.s.o. are properly set.

I had a very similar problem at a client a couple months back. I installed and configured email for DEV and QAS and everything worked great. But when I tried to do the same with PRD, I got the same problem. So I opened a problem with SAP that said:
DEV and QAS have been sending emails without problem. But in the SCOT trace log in PRD there is a SX_GENERATE_NDR error with the text of "Cannot process message in SAP System". I compared the SMTP and IIS settings on the PRD server with the ones on the DEV server. They are compatible. And there is nothing in the Application log in the Event Manager of the server. I have attached the most recent SCOT trace.
They replied - after a bit of going back and forth:
The issue is with binding to port 25000. With admin rights can you go to SMICM and change the smtp port to 25000 and remember to tick the option 2 "Use External Bnding Program" under the menu option, service and change. When you have this changed this will correct this issue for you.
To which I replied:
This worked, thanks. But why did it work? I looked in SMICM in both DEV and QAS and they show a SERVICE NAME/PORT for SMTP as being 0. So what gives?
To which they replied:
I think the problem here is that microsoft SMTP service on windows 2003 is present on port 25. So when the setup outbound mail on port 25 there was a conflict with this service.
So the specified port 25000 and binded the SMTP Plug-in to this port using the ext bind parameter.
On the DEV and QAS systems you specified port 0 for sending. No mail can be received into these systems and the mail will be sent on any port.
So I guess it boils down to not using the same port for the Exchange server in your network and the SMTP server on the SAP server. I don't know how I didn't get zinged with this one in DEV and QAS but somehow I managed to avoid it there.
Oh, BTW, you don't need to add a SMTP server in RZ10, port 25 is always the default port for email.
