Hi
I am new to Basis. I am currently loading SAP 46B, Oracel 8.1.7 on Windows 2000.
When I run R3Setup I get the following error message 'DBCREATEINSTANCE_NT_ORA'. This causes the r3setup to fail. How can I fix this problem and continue with my setup.

check if you see any NT services named OracleServiceXXX...
This step is trying to create this service.
and as yls177 said, check the last *.LOG file from your installation directory to get some clues.

1) DBCREATEINSTANCE_NT_ORA is not an error, it is an install step. It might have gotten an error but it is not an error.
2) svrmgrl is an Oracle tool called Server Manager. It does not create services.
I think you might not have all the basic skills needed to do SAP and Oracle installations. Don't you have anyone at your location to hold your hand through your first install? 'Cause I am telling you now, that all caps thing in the subject might cause some moderators to go balistic on your butt.
