absence calculation - reducing basic pay

Question: I am entering unpaid leave using infotype 2001 and have assigned a wagetype whcih will create the unpaid absence.

but the system calculates a amount and deucts it from the basic pay directly and i cant see where it is deducting the basic pay.

I need to show this wagetype unpaid absence as a sepearte deduction wagetype when absence hours are entered and not reduce in basic pay directly.

any help on this is apperciated.

Answer:
Hi,

we came accross this issue also some time ago.

If it's caused by the same problem, it has to do something with your validation of absence types in RPCALC.
(in your payroll schema probably placed under 'Time Management', function PAB').

Settings can be changed in IMG under:

Payroll -> Payroll: Your Country -> Absences -> (maybe an extra subnode here) -> Group Absences for Absences Valuation ( Table 554S_G)

[Description of valuation types my be misleading sometimes, so play a little in your sandbox first]

Answer:
You can copy the Absence deduction wage type to a dummy wage type. With its charactersistics not to add to total.

Then you can Add the Wt to the New wage type thru a rule in yr Payroll schema. The same can be even displayed in case you need on the Payroll as well.
