Create change request from test syst. to dev. syst.

Question: hello,

We have a BW system with 620 version and BW system 30B.
We're trying to create a change request backwards (from the test system to the devlopment system), but we can only create a local change request:
meaning - we can't make add to buffer, because the change request is not \SAP\Trans\cofile.

Any ideas?????

Answer:
first: make sure, a backward-transport causes NO damage! this might be vital.

second: export and import in manually (stms)

Answer:
or after making sure that " backward-transport causes NO damage" you can do a transport of copies (transaction SE01) using that local transport request.

Answer:
most probably their problem is that they use a temp/local dev class in their test system (hence no data and cofile).
First create temporary a layer which allows tp from test to dev, then assign a dev class to that layer, assign the object(s) to that dev class, and release the new created transport
you'll have a usable transport. it certainly will work this way, maybe a lot of work, but if you really need it ...
do not forget to clean up the 'mess' if this is a unique situation

Answer:
A transport from any SAP system that the transport request be generated with attachment to a viable transport layer. Normally, a transport domain contains DEV -> QAS and DEV -> QAS and possibly QAS -> PRD routes but rarely PRD -> QAS or PRD -> DEV routes.

If you really want to do this, log on to the transport domain controller and add a transport route from PRD -> QAS or DEV. Save the change and distribute to the other SAP system. Now if you create a PRD transport, it will be transportable. The K cofile and R/D data file can be moved into the /usr/sap/trans/cofiles and /usr/sap/trans/data directories respectively on any SAP server.
