Question:
HI Basis Gurus,
Old authorisations given by us work very slowly. i.e. Executing transaction pa30 (HR) takes 2-3 min for the 1st screen to appear, and users are fed up. This has been there for last 2 years....
I created a new user by just copying the old one ... and lo behold .... the 1st screen appeared in no time.
Any idea how this turn-around has happened? Is it because the new user was created in contiguous disk blocks (silly thought, do agree)
Has anybody faced this before?
TIA
Answer:
To further elaborate with an example:
We are facing a unique problem in HR user authorisations.
One user (U1) was linked to an activity group (AG1) and the performance
of the user was very bad as under:
1. When we executed pa30 transaction, the 1st screenused to appear quickly.
2. On supplying the employee no, the next screen used to come after 3-4
min.
3. User exited out of the transaction.
4. When again pa30 was typed and ENTER pressed, the 1st screen used to take pretty long time.
We did a copy of the activity group (AG2) and linked it to the different
user (U2) above and checked out the performance.
1. When we executed pa30 transaction, the 1st screen appeared quickly.
2. On supplying the employee no, the next screen also appeared quickly.
3. User exited out of the transaction.
4. When again pa30 was typed and ENTER pressed, the 1st screen appeared quickly.
When the activity group (AG2) was linked to the original user (U1), foll
owing was the performance:
1. When we executed pa30 transaction, the 1st screen appeared quickly.
2. On supplying the employee no, the next screen appeared after 3-4 min.
3. User exited out of the transaction.
4. When again pa30 was typed and ENTER pressed, the 1st screen took pretty long time.
A) Why is this happening?
B) Cannot we link the same original user to the new activity group, as the
users would like to have their original users?
C) How do we solve this?
Pl let us have your feedback on this unusual scenario.
TIA
